Delhi: Chhat Pooja not to be allowed in public places, public grounds, river banks, temples etc

Chhath Pooja 2021 is celebrated on the sixth day of the month of Karthika in the Vikram Samvat, which also means it is the sixth day after Diwali.

Delhi Disaster Management Authority on Thursday issued preventive measures in Delhi that shall continue till 15th Nov.

In the order, it is said that Chhat pooja celebration shall not be allowed in public places/public grounds/river banks, temples etc in Delhi.

It has also advised public to celebrate the same at their homes.

In addition to this, the Covid-19 preventive measures will continue till 15 November across the national capital.

This comes days after Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal announced total ban on fire crackers in Delhi.

Ahead of the festive season, the Centre asked governments of states and Union territories to take adequate measures to ensure that a surge in COVID-19 cases is not seen after the celebrations. The Union Home Ministry warned against complacency due to the recent drop in the number of cases.
