Delhi deputy CM Manish Sisodia tests positive for Covid-1, goes into ’self-isolation’

New Delhi: Delhi deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia on Monday announced that he has been tested positive for Coronavirus.

The Deputy CM, who is among those leading the fight against Covid-19 in Delhi, took to Twitter to make the announcement.

Sisodia said he felt unwell on Sunday night with mild fever, following which he took the Covid-19 test today. The report came positive.

The Chief Minister said he was fine and had no major complications, there was self-isolation himself.

“Right now there is no fever or any other complication. I am completely fine. By your good wishes and blessing, I will soon return to work,” Sisodia wrote on Twitter in Hindi.

Sisodia is not the first person in Kejriwal cabinet to test Corona positive. Prior to him, Health Minister Satyanedra Jain and Aatishi had contracted the virus. The Minister was admitted in hospital while the latter got treated while staying in home isolation.

Delhi on Monday recorded 3,229 fresh Covid-19 cases, taking the virus tally to over 2.21 lakh, according to Delhi government’s health bulletin. The death toll climbed to 4,770 with 24 fatalities reported in last 24 hours.
