New Delhi: When Arvind Kejriwal formed the Aam Aadmi Party in 2012, it was said that AAP would emerge not just as an alternative to Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) and Indian National Congress (INC) but would be a party of ‘commom-man’. Promises were made that AAP co-ordinator would not avail the luxuries of power if elected to public office and would lead the life of an ‘aam aadami’, though he didn’t walk the talk.

Manish Sisodia, one of his closest aides and Delhi Deputy CM, today came in the centre of controversy over his visit to Uttarakhand. He was welcomed by the party unit but the striking part of the visit was children being lined up to give him a rousing reception.

A tweet shared by the Dehradun unit of AAP said, “State Party President SS Kaler welcoming Delhi Deputy Chief Minister at Narsan Border, during his dehradun visit”.

However, in four pictures posted, one after the other, a minor boy could be seen, who was hired for beating the drums in the welcome ceremony. Internet users found it offensive and against the values of a party, which boasts of common man values.

Twitter users also took note of the fact that Sisodia, who is also Education Minister in Delhi, should morally not be involved in such events. While many criticized Sisodia and AAP for involving a minor Into a political activity rather then helping him out with his education.

Sisodia have been very vocal about the education of the children in various states. He had even visited to Uttar Pradesh this year claiming that he would expose the distressing situations of schools under the Yogi government, but couldn’t present enough evidence to justify his claim.
