New Delhi: In fresh trouble for Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Monday issued summon and asked him to appear before it on February 26.

According to reports, the Deputy CM has been asked to appear for questioning in second round of questioning for liquor policy scam.

This is fresh summon issued by the CBI, as Sisodia had sought time from the agency citing Delhi government’s Budget exercise. Earlier, he was told to appear before the agency on Feb 19.

Sisodia is at the centre of controversy over Delhi’s liquor policy scam. The CBI in its FIR had alleged that AAP govt’s policy of granting licences to liquor traders extended favours to some traders who paid bribes for it.

Meanwhile, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal came out in strong defence of his deputy and rebutted all charges by the CBI. Lashing out at the Centre, he called it a conspiracy, stemming from Centre’s ‘vendetta politics’.

Sisodia also took to Twitter to deny all charges against him. Tearing into the investigative agencies & BJP govt at Centre, he said that govt’s full machinery was pressed into action against him but nothing was found at his residence, office or bank lockers.

“They have used the full power of CBI, ED against me, raided my house, searched bank locker, but nothing was found against me,” Sisodia said in an apparent reference to BJP-led Centre.
