New Delhi: Delhi Police’s Special Cell has arrested wanted gangster Kala Jathedi, who was carrying a reward of Rs 7 lakh. Kala was arrested from Uttar Pradesh’s Saharanpur on Friday, said Manishi Chandra, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Counter Intelligence of Special Cell.
He further informed that Kala Jathedi was wanted in several cases registered in Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, and Rajasthan. The accused tried to escape from the police, but the team nabbed him on the spot with a pistol.
Earlier in May this year, Delhi Police arrested a member of Kala Jathedi gang. Mohit Gill (24), a resident of Rohtak, was associated with the Kala Jathedi gang, according to the police.
The Special Cell of Delhi Police has imposed MCOCA on Kala Jathedi. Special Cell DCP said that their team was behind him for a long time and technical surveillance helped them to catch him.
It is being reported that he had escaped from police custody from Faridabad in February 2020. To mislead the police he has spread the word that he was hiding in Dubai.
