Delhi theatres to open with 50% capacity, Delhi Metro to run at full capacity from Monday

The relaxations in restrictions come in wake of zero fatality in the city. No death were recorded in Delhi in the city on Saturday, while 66 fresh cases were reported with a positivity rate of 0.09%.

New Delhi: Cinema halls, theatres, and multiplexes have been allowed to open in the national capital with 50% seating capacity while Delhi Metro can now operate at 100% capacity from 26 July, the Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) said today.

Intra-state bus service has also been allowed with 100 percent seating capacity. The gathering cap at weddings, funerals has been raised from the present 50 people to 100. Spas have been allowed to open but with strict adherence to COVID protocol.

Auditoriums and assembly halls, too, can open but with 50 percent seating capacity.

Delhi records zero fatality

The relaxations in restrictions come in wake of zero fatality in the city. No death were recorded in Delhi in the city on Saturday, while 66 fresh cases were reported with a positivity rate of 0.09%.

This is the second time since the starting of the second wave of the pandemic in the national capital that zero fatality has been logged in a day.

On March 2 this year, the city had reported zero death due to the virus. On that day, the number of single-day infections stood at 217 and the positivity rate was 0.33 per cent.

On Friday, the city had registered 58 cases and one fatality, while the positivity rate was 0.09 per cent.
