Divya Utsav culminates with ‘special riders’ earning a place in Genius Book of World records

The Accessible Art Exhibition facilitated a special experience for the visually impaired ones, where they could perceive the art work with their intitutive senses.

New Delhi: The two-day Divya Utsav, organized at Thyagraj stadium to celebrate the World Disability Day, saw the coming together of hundreds of specially-abled children & youth who left an indelible mark on the occasion with their impressive & laudable feats in various arts & competition events.

Hundreds of divyangs, over two-day Utsav, participated in a slew of occasions including Fashion show, Arts & Crafts exhibition and showcased their inherent & unseen talent before a wide spectrum of audience.

The assembly of Eagle Special Riders for a cause was one of the major highlights of two-day Divya Utsav.

Dr Virendra Kumar, Union Cabinet Minister for Social Justice & Empowerment, unveiled the ride and also congratulated the volunteers for earning themselves a place in the Genius Book of World Records. They completed a remarkable 5500 km journey in retro-fitted scooties.


Dr Nonita Gangwani, an MBBS doctor was honoured by the organizers for usage of assistive technology in painting with headgear.

Lastly, UIAC Utthan GGSIP University volunteers put up a stall at the Divya Fest on last day, organised by State Commissioner For PWDs Delhi. The stall garnered everyone’s attention and was visited & appreciated by many.
