DK Jangala & Shefali Barnala Tandon (both ASJ’s) elected as President & Secretary of JSA

Making it a remarkable moment, the Delhi District Judiciary chose its Woman Secretary after decades.

New Delhi: Devender Kumar Jangala and Shefali Barnala Tandon, both Additional Session Judges (ASJ’s) were elected as the President & Secretary of the Judicial Service Association (JSA) of Delhi on Monday.

DK Jangala, the Higher Judicial Services Officer defeated his closest rival Ruchi Aggarwal by over 400 votes. He secured 498 votes while the contesting candidate Ruchi Aggarwal got only 97 votes.

Shefali Barnala Tandon, Higher Judicial Services Officer was elected as JSA secretary by trouncing her closest rival Himanshu Tanwar with landslide victory. She secured 400 votes while Himanshu got 155 votes and Ombir Shokeen bagged just 40 votes.

Neha Pandey was elected as JSA treasurer. A total of 430 votes were polled in her favour while rival candidate Ruchika Tyagi could manage 166 votes.

The elections for various posts of Judicial Services Association of Delhi took place on the pursuance of notification dated November 22, 2023.

The Judicial Services Association (JSA) was formed after the Delhi High Court was established. For the uninitiated, the JSAs were set up for providing all accessory support to the judicial officers.

The newly elected President, Secretary & Treasurer were given warm wishes by the outgoing executive committee.
