Drunk TTE who urinated on woman sacked from service, Railway Minister tweets termination letter

Taking strong exception to TTE Munna Kumar’s conduct inside the Kolkata-bound Akal Takht train, the Railways said that his sordid act has brought disrepute to the whole organization and such conduct can’t be condoned.

New Delhi: Taking quick cognizance of Ticket checker urinating on a passenger on Akal Takht Express train and following it up with stringent action, the Indian Railways on Tuesday removed the peeing TTE from service.

Taking to Twitter, the Railway Minister himself shared the termination orders of the Travel ticket Examiner (TTE) and reiterated Modi government’s resolve of zero tolerance against corruption & all kinds of crimes.

Taking strong exception to TTE Munna Kumar’s conduct inside the Kolkata-bound Akal Takht train, the Railways said that his sordid act has brought disrepute to the whole organization and such conduct can’t be condoned.

The order says ‘removal with immediate effect’, given the fact that his behavior is unbecoming of a railway servant.

TTE Munna Kumar, hailing from Bihar, was in drunken state and not on duty when the incident happened. This Sunday, he urinated on the head of a woman in A1 coach of the train. After the outcry over his disgusting act, fellow passengers caught hold of him and handed over to a police station in Lucknow.

The husband of woman, is also said to be Railway employee. He lodged an FIR in the case following which the accused TTE was put behind bars. He is currently in judicial custody.

The incident comes months after the infamous pee-gate incident on an Air India flight where an intoxicated passenger urinated on an elderly woman. The drunk passenger, on American Airlines’ New York-New Delhi flight peed on a fellow woman passenger but was let free after some reprimand from the airline. However, after the issue created a storm, the accused was banned from flying with the airline.
