New Delhi: Delhi BJP chief Adesh Gupta questioned the silence of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal over the murder of an 18-year-old DU student. An 18-year-old student was beaten to death in Delhi allegedly over his relationship with a girl belonging to a different religion in Adarsh Nagar. Rahul Rajput was a BA second-year student, who also used to give English tuition to students.

According to the victim’s family, the 18-year-old had received a call regarding tuition and he was asked to meet someone at a narrow lane near his house. He was later beaten by the girl’s brother along with 7-8 boys. Rajput was immediately rushed to BJRM hospital in an unconscious condition. However, the boy succumbed to his injuries during treatment. No visible injury was seen on the deceased’s body. The post mortem of the body was done today.

On the statement of Dharma Pal, the uncle of the deceased, a case u/s 302/ 34 IPC has been registered, and two accused persons namely Manwar Hussain s/o Hasibul r/o C 195, Jahangir Puri Delhi and Md. Raj s/o Abdul Mahar Afroj r/o H2/176 Jahangir Puri Delhi have been arrested and three juveniles have been apprehended.

DCP North West has appealed to the people to not give any colour to the case calling it a “dispute” between two families.

The girl was witness to horror, sent to Naari Niketan

According to reports, the whole incident happened in front of the girl. She is the prime witness in this case. The girl has cited a threat from her family that’s why the police have sent her to a shelter home (Naari Niketan). The police have been deployed in the locality so that they could prevent any untoward situation.
