ECI orders immediate removal of SP Lipi Singh and DM of Munger; orders inquiry
Lipi Singh, the superintendent of police (SP) of Munger, Bihar is in the news for her role in the shooting that occurred at a Durga puja immersion.
New Delhi: Election Commission of India (ECI) ordered immediate removal of SP & DM of Munger. An inquiry has been ordered into the incident by Asangba Chuba Ao, Divisional Commissioner, Magadh that has to be completed with the next seven days.

Meanwhile, unidentified persons cause arson at SDO & SP office in Munger, setting several vehicles on fire & damaging office.

“During Durga puja immersion, some anti-social elements resorted to stone pelting which injured 20 policemen after this someone from the crowd fired leading to one death. Situation under control,” Lipi Singh, SP of Munger told news agency ANI.

Who is Lipi Singh?
IPS officer Lipi Singh is the Munger Superintendent of Police. Singh, a 2016 batch IPS officer, had previously come into the limelight after she took action against Independent Bihar MLA Anant Singh.
Lipi Singh has a political connection as her father being Janata Dal (United) leader Ramchandra Prasad Singh. Her father is a Member of the Rajya Sabha from Bihar. He had been a close aide to Nitish Kumar, serving as principal secretary earlier.
