Lucknow: Attributing to the sustained efforts of the Yogi Adityanath government in keeping the pace of the Covid-19 vaccination at peak and of ensuring timely provision of vaccine cover, Uttar Pradesh will soon be home to 100 percent fully vaccinated individuals.
As the state of Uttar Pradesh continues to reach new milestones in its vaccination campaign, it has been successful in providing vaccine cover to nearly 99 percent population in every set category — health workers, frontline workers, senior citizens, adults, children in the age group 15-17, and children in the age group 12-14 — in the state. On the contrary, many resource-rich states with comparatively lesser populations like Maharashtra have been unable in achieving the above target yet.
The Uttar Pradesh government is providing vaccination cover to all children between 12 to 17 years of age in a time-bound manner. So far, over 2,58,68,145 vaccine doses have been administered to children in the age group of 15-17 and over 1,32,43,675 vaccine doses have been administered to children in the age group of 12-14 in the state.
Standing on the top, the state of Uttar Pradesh has so far given out over 33.75 crore total vaccine doses. Out of these, over 17,53,24,563 are first doses, while over 15,87,91,071 individuals are fully vaccinated.
Committed to providing additional protection cover to the people, Uttar Pradesh started administering booster shots (precaution dose) from January 10. Over 34.56 lakh ‘precaution doses’ have been administered in the state so far.
Aggressive Vaccination is an integral part of the comprehensive strategy of the Yogi-led UP government to contain the pandemic, along with adherence to coronavirus- appropriate behaviour. As a result, amid rising cases of Covid-19 in other states, vaccination cover will aid in controlling the spread of the pandemic in Uttar Pradesh.
In addition, apart from making all necessary arrangements in the hospitals for the treatment of people, the government has also ordered to ensure continuous monitoring of the medical equipment, availability of essential medicines, doctors, paramedical staff to keep the Covid-19 situation in control.
