New Delhi: Ahead of Assembly elections in Uttarakhand, Congress unit is facing major discontent within. The discontent came to fore on Thursday when the party cancelled ticket of Sandhaya Dalakoti from Lal Kuan seat and alloted it to former state CM Harish Rawat. Following the flip-flop in ticket allocation, the woman Congress leader has rebelled and has gone out lashing against the top leadership.

Sandhya Dalakoti on Thursday took to Facebook to blame Congress for disrespecting her. She wrote in her post that despite tirelessly working for the party day to a night she was denied ticket. She will not forget until her last breath that Harish Rawat hurt her, she added.

Dalakoti’s post received a positive reaction on Facebook with many writing we are with you and blamed Congress for disrespecting women’s power.

Reportedly, Harish Rawat was earlier given a ticket to contest from Ramnagar. However, the Congress assigned Lalkuwa constituency to Rawat because of the protest it faced from the party leader Ranjit Rawat against Harish Rawat. In Ramnagar, the party has fielded Mahendra Pal Singh.

The single-phase assembly poll for 70 seats in the state will be held on February 14. The counting of votes will begin on March 10. In the last election in 2017, the BJP had won 57 seats out of the total 70 seats.
