New Delhi: Co-founder of fact-checking website Alt News Mohammed Zubair was arrested by the Delhi Police on Monday over tweets that were detrimental to communal harmony. Soon after the news spread on social media, many people shared their reactions on Twitter under the hashtag, Alt News.

A Twitter user on the internet wrote, ”Alt News co founder Mohammed Zubair @zoo_bear the Man who threw Nupur Sharma to the wolves has been ARRESTED #zubair”

Sharing a tweet of Zubai in which he mocked Lord Hanuman, a user wrote, ”#Zubair Khan is continuously insulting Hindu religion, such people should be punished. We have to unite and raise our voice against such people.”

Kapil Mishra also took to Twitter to share his reaction, ”Fake News peddler , jihadi propaganda gang member zubair is arrested by Delhi Police…Count down was on for long as he was trying to cause communal tension and riots through his fake news platforms”
