Farmers in Uttar Pradesh to prosper with Bhamashah Scheme

Under this scheme, the government will create Bhamashah Price Stability Fund, which will ensure the minimum support price of potatoes, onions, and tomatoes

Lucknow: Believing that the prosperity of the state is directly proportional to the prosperity of the farmers, the Yogi Adityanath government has chalked out a plan for benefitting the farmers at the grass-root level.

In order to provide relief to farmers engaged in horticulture, the Yogi government has proposed Rs 100 crore for Bhamashah Price Stability Fund in order to guarantee the minimum price of potato, onion and tomato to the farmers.

Under this scheme, the government will create Bhamashah Price Stability Fund, which will ensure the minimum support price of potatoes, onions, and tomatoes.

Even in its manifesto — “Lok Kalyan Sankalp Patra 2022” –the BJP had promised to create a “Bhamashah Bhav Sthirta Kosh” (price stability fund) to ensure a minimum price for all the major crops like potato, tomato, and onion.

Its direct benefit will be given to those farmers who were facing difficulties due to the negligence of the previous governments before 2017. Due to the non-availability of fair prices during the previous governments, the farmers who used to bring these crops to the market were becoming indebted.

CM Yogi has ordered the officers to work diligently to take the benefits of this scheme to the farmers. The Chief Minister has clearly said that no officer and employee will be spared for laxity in this work.

Now farmers will get minimum support price through this scheme. They can keep their crop in cold storage and sell the produce at a reasonable price.
