New Delhi: On the day of the cremation of the Punjabi singer-turned-politician, Sidhu MooseWala, Punjab police made the first arrest of the accused in the association of the murder of the late singer.
The accused identified as Manpreet Singh has been arrested from Uttarakhand. He was one of the six detained by the police yesterday. Besides, the accused has been sent to police custody for five days.
Shubhdeep Singh Sidhu, popularly known as Sidhu MooseWala was shot dead on Sunday, just after his security was withdrawn by the state police. He was shot by unidentified gunmen as his car was attacked from both sides. His car from the front and both sides showed multiple bullet holes.
The late singer contested the Punjab elections with a Congress ticket earlier this year. His post-mortem report shows that he was shot 30 times with an automatic assault rifle.
Earlier police suggested that the murder occurred due to suspected gang rivalry.
