New Delhi: In a brazen display of power, a former Member of Parliament (MP) and AIADMK leader A Arjunan was caught on camera abusing cops. The ‘drunk on power’ AIADMK leader took offence over policemen stopping him at a toll gate in Salem.
In the video, the leader can be seen verbally abusing and pushing the policemen on duty at the toll gate.
The incident occurred when the cops on duty asked the politician to show his e-pass.
Former MP violated lockdown norms
Ex-MP was stopped by police near the Salem checkpost and asked to show his e-pass as per lockdown protocol. Arjunan behaved rudely with the cops and the argument led to pushing between the two. He kicked the officer and left the zone but no one retaliated.

No FIR have been filed against the ex-MP yet. Arjunan was with DMK when he was an MP and then jumped to AIADMK. He is not with any party now actively.
As per sources, Arjunan did not possess necessary documents and an e-pass which has been made mandatory by the Tamil Nadu Government if a vehicle wants to pass through districts in the state.
