New Delhi: A day after India lost to Australia in the ICC World Cup 2023’s final, former Indian Captain Kapil Dev admits that the BCCI did not invite him to attend the ICC World Cup 2023 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. According to sources, BCCI had invited all the winning team captains to attend the closing of the match. BCCI had also sent an invitation to Mahendra Singh Dhoni but he could not attend. Former Indian Captain Kapil Dev says he wanted to watch the match like the other captains but he wasn’t invited by the BCCI so he didn’t come. The veteran cricketer revealed this to ABP News during an Interview. He added that I wanted the whole ’83 teams to watch the match but I guess people have responsibilities sometimes they forget.

Other former Captains who came to watch the match were Sourav Ganguly, Sachin Tendulkar, Shah Rukh Khan, and Deepika Padukone with Ranbir Singh. Former Indian badminton player and Deepika Padukone’s father Prakash Padukone also came to watch the match. Famous Bollywood Singer Asha Bhonsle was also seen enjoying the match with the cricketer’s wives.  The Head of the Isha Foundation Sadhguru was also spotted watching the match with BCCI Secretary Jay Shah.

Other celebrities who came to watch the match were Vivek Oberoi, Sikander Kher, Saumya Tandon, Prateek Gandhi etc. Millions of Indians were heartbroken after India lost to Australia in the World Cup yesterday. Team Australia won by six wickets with seven overs left to play. Thousands of fans took to Social Media to express their grief over the loss. However many fans also expressed hope about winning the next World Cup.
