Former Karnataka IPS officer ‘Singham’ Annamalai joins BJP

The former IPS officer said he was a nationalist at heart and an admirer of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji, hence naturally BJP was his choice of party when he decided to join politics to serve the people.

New Delhi: Former Karnataka cadre Indian Police service (IPS) officer popularly known as ‘Singham’ Kuppusamy Annamalai from Tamil Nadu joined the Bharatiya Janata Party on Tuesday in the presence of BJP National General Secretary Shri P. Muralidhar Rao, Tamil Nadu BJP State President Shri L. Murugan and BJP National Spokesperson Dr Sambit Patra in the party headquarter, New Delhi. Later, Shri Annamalai met the BJP National President, Shri Jagat Prakash Nadda ji.

Having served the police force nearly a decade, Shri Annamalai resigned from service in May 2019 to “work among the people”. He served as ASP of Karkala before taking charge as SP of Udupi district, and was then transferred to Bengaluru as DCP (South). He also started an organization ‘We the Leaders’ with the aim to contribute youth in making our society, to assist youth purchase higher job alternatives and in turn our country great.

I am a big fan of Shri Modi ji simply because he shows me that a common man can aspire to reach the top and achieve the goal; and he does not need to come from any dynasty and has no corruption charges, he told a bunch of reporters at BJP HQ, New Delhi.

Former Karnataka IPS officer ‘Singham’ Annamalai joins BJP - 2Shri K Annamalai said that there is a lot of misconception about the BJP in Tamil Nadu and there is a need to work to create awareness. “I think the BJP will be able to give a new vision and direction to Tamil Nadu,” Annamalai had said. He said he is joining BJP unconditionally and his admiration for Prime Minister Narendra Modi is one of the things that made him take the decision. He said, BJP is the only party that doesn’t have dynastic politics, nepotism or sycophancy. I will work for the party relentlessly under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji and Party President Shri Jagat Prakash Nadda Ji.

BJP National General Secretary Shri P. Muralidhar Rao welcomed Shri K. Annamalai in the BJP family by giving membership receipt to him. Shri L. Murugan said that Shri K. Annamalai will strengthen the Party in Tamil Nadu and the party’s reach will increase among the in the state.
