Govindas Konthoujam, former Manipur Congress chief joins Bharatiya Janata Party, in the presence of Manipur CM N Biren Singh

New Delhi: Govindas Konthoujam, former Manipur Congress chief joins Bharatiya Janata Party, in the presence of Manipur CM N Biren Singh.

After joining the party, he said, he will work dedicatedly for Bharatiya Janata Party in those elections.

“Next year state elections are due in Manipur, and I will work dedicatedly for Bharatiya Janata Party in those elections,” he said.

PM Narendra Modi has cared for the North East, and recently five ministers from the region have been inducted into the Union cabinet. Manipur promises to make Modi govt stronger, said  Manipur CM and BJP leader N Biren Singh at party headquarters in Delhi.

The announcement was made by party’s national spokesperson.

Congress MLA and former president of MPCC resigned from the membership of state Assembly and primary membership of the party on July 28.
