New Delhi: Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has written a hard-hitting letter letter to Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray over alleged harassment of contractors working on national highway projects.
In the letter, the Minister has warned that work on national highways may come to a halt due to illegal activities and ‘environment of terror’ created by Shiv Sena workers, reported a leading daily.
Shiv Sena workers in Washim district reportedly burnt JCB & expensive road machinery equipment for not paying bribe.
“When I got the information, I came to know that local Shiv Sena representatives had stopped the work”, Gadkari said in the letter.
Giving an implicit warning to the state government, the Minister has written that if local Sena leaders continue like this, the road ministry will have to re-look at new road projects in the state.
