‘Ghulam Bhaijaan… crutches of’: Azad’s praise of PM Modi draws jibe from Digvijaya Singh

Digvijaya Singh’s comment was also laced with a satirical jibe as he addressed him as “Bhaijaan”, a term rarely used for him till now.

New Delhi: Ghulam Nabi Azad’s criticism of Congress and admiration of PM Narendra Modi hasn’t gone down well with the grand old party & its leaders and the latter is making its dislike of him clear with satirical retort.

The sharp exchange of words comes on back of release of Ghulam Nabi Azad’s memoir ‘Azaad’ and his incisive observation of Congress party, where he stated that he was ‘reserved’ in his statements as this would totally ‘expose & demolish the party’.

Senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh today took exception to Ghulam Nabi’s critique of the party and also tore into him for forecasting ‘doomsday crisis’ for the party.

He accused his former party colleague of bending too low to earn support of PM Modi & BJP.

“What will you achieve with crutches of BJP & Modiji,” Digvijay asked.

Digvijaya Singh’s comment was also laced with a satirical jibe as he addressed him as “Bhaijaan”, a term rarely used for him till now.

Remember, the veteran Congress leader while quitting party had made shocking disclosures about getting ‘partisan treatment’ in the party on account of his minority religion.

Digvijaya Singh also warned former Congressman of first saving his party in Jammu & Kashmir, rather than worrying & getting distressed about Congress.

For the unversed, Ghulam Nabi Azad founded his party in J&K — Democratic Progressive Azad Party, post his exit from Congress party.

A day ago, Ghulam Nabi heaped praises on Prime Minister, called him statesman and found faults with the Congress high command while underlining the need for ‘pressing reforms’ in party.
