Ghulam Nabi Azad has been Modi-fied: Jairam Ramesh’s sharp jibe at J&K leader’s exit

Hours after Azad submitted his resignation and also made critical remarks against the top leaders, couple of Congress leaders came forward to hit back.

New Delhi: Congress veteran Ghulam Nabi Azad’s parting shot while quitting the party has invited sharp reactions and diatribes from the Gandhi loyalists.

Hours after Azad submitted his resignation and also made critical remarks against the top leaders, couple of Congress leaders came forward to hit back. Azad was critical of Rahul Gandhi’s conduct at many occasions including the tearing apart of Ordinance in public, string of party losses in elections and the general health of party.

Congress MP Jairam Ramesh was highly critical of Azad and said, “vicious personal attacks revealed Ghulam Nabi Azad’s true character”.

“A man who has been treated with the greatest respect by the Congress leadership has betrayed it by his vicious personal attacks which reveal his true character. GNA’s DNA has been Modi-fied,” Jairam Ramesh tweeted.

“First Modi’s tears in Parliament, then Padma Vibhushan, then the extension of the house It’s not a coincidence, it’s cooperation!,” he further said.

The tweet refers to PM Modi’s emotional farewell to Ghulam Nabi Azad in Parliament when his tenure as Rajya Sabha MP came to an end in February, 2021.

Ghulam Nabi Azad was one of the biggest face of G-23 group, a dissenter Congress group which wrote to Sonia seeking sweeping changes in party after 2019 poll drubbing.

The erstwhile Congress leader, who served the party for more than 5 decades, was upset with the way grand old party has been functioning in light of many poll debacles. Azad also expressed reservations against the sycophants & family loyalists running roughshod over honest & hard-working party leaders.
