‘Ghumakkad’ Kejriwal trends on Twitter amid row over Delhi CM’s proposed Singapore visit

Netizens called Kejriwal a ‘Ghumakkad’ leader after AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal jibed at the centre for not allowing him to go to Singapore on a proposed visit. It is reported that Kejriwal wants to visit Singapore to attend the World Cities Summit between 31 July and August 3.

Kejriwal said he has been called by the Singapore government to present Delhi’s model growth of services in health and schools. ”I am an elected MLA. I don’t understand why am I being stopped (from going to World Cities Summit). Singapore govt has called me to tell them about the Delhi model- growth of services in health & schools. This will promote the country on an international level,” said Arvind Kejriwal to presspersons.

Under the hashtag, many people criticised Kejriwal and shared funny memes and messages.

Sharing a reaction under the hashtag a user wrote, ”Dear Kejriwal ji, since you are such a frugal Chief Minister, why don’t you do a padyatra to Singapore? It will take a few months to reach there but will save the mind and money of millions of Delhi’s taxpayers.”
