New Delhi: In a major air scare for Goa-bound chartered flight, the Moscow-Goa flight was diverted to Uzbekistan on Saturday following bomb threat.
Officials with knowledge of the matter claimed that the Goa-bound jet was diverted after Dabolim Airport received bomb threat via email.
The flight AZV2463 was about to land at Dabolim airport in Goa at 4.15 am in morning but it was diverted before entering Indian air space.
“It was diverted after an email was received at 12.30 am by the Dabolim airport director that mentioned a bomb being planted on the plane,” PTI reported quoting an aviation official.
The aircraft had 247 people on board and it was diverted to Uzbekistan.
2nd bomb threat in 2 weeks
What’s startling is that this is second bomb threat incident in just 2 weeks.
On January 9, another chartered flight from on the same route Moscow to Goa was diverted to Jamnagar in Gujarat after a bomb alert was raised by the agencies.

The Goa flight had to make emergency landing in Gujarat’s Jamnagar as Goa Air Traffic control received an email over bomb threat. Over 236 flyers were on that plane.
However, after inspection, this proved to be hoax call and it took off the following day after necessary inspection by the bomb disposal squad & other agencies.
