Govt dedicated to farmers’ welfare, working to enhance agricultural production in Chandauli: CM Yogi

Chandauli in the last five and half years has scaled new heights of development. While launching about 57 development projects worth nearly Rs 963.52 crore in Chandauli district, Yogi Adityanath said, “Chandauli is witnessing massive development with upcoming flyovers, highways, new roads, Model ITis, and a medical college. The government is working dedicatedly to strengthen the agriculture production of the region through various measures.”

The CM on the occasion also distributed letters to various beneficiaries, launched an exhibition based on development plans, and conducted ‘Annaprashan’ ceremony of children in the presence of Union Minister Mahendra Nath Pandey and other eminent dignitaries.

He went on to say, “Chandauli provided new identity to the state and the country because of its potential in agriculture. The district has also progressed significantly on all parameters such as education, health, public resource and agriculture, employment and skill, financial inclusion, and infrastructure and has attained recognition from the NITI Aayog.”

Maintaining that farmers’ welfare is the top priority of his government, the CM said that soon, with assistance from Israel through an ‘Indo-Israel Center of Excellence for Vegetables’, Chandauli will also become an ideal centre for vegetable production.

He further directed the district administration to enhance vegetable production in the region and benefit the farmers with the help of FPOs and Centre of Excellence. “A State-of-Art Wholesale Fish Market has also been approved by the State Fisheries Department, under which a new market is being developed with about Rs 62 crore, which will further promote the district’s economy,” Yogi added.

The Chief Minister continued: “A model ITI is also being developed in Chandauli to ensure the prosperous future of the youths here.”

He further said that about 2.44 lakh farmers have benefited from the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi in Chandauli, whereas, about 33,990 people have got houses under PM Awas Scheme (rural) about 4662 additional houses were provided. Moreover, about 2851 houses were given to the Musahars in the district through the CM Awas scheme.

Emphasising the upliftment of women, Yogi said that so far about 1.91 lakh LPG connections under Ujjwala have been given in Chandauli. About 21,835 have benefited from the Kanya Sumangala scheme, while, about 3,322 couples have been married under the Mukhyamantri Samuhik Vivah scheme. He also urged to promote women on the path of self-reliance through the Rural Livelihood Mission.

He further highlighted that about 12,065 youth have been provided tablets/smartphones and reiterated that the government is working for the development of every section without discriminating on any basis.
