Gujarat CM Vijay Rupani announces measures to accelerate urban development in the state

Chief Minister has decided to give the status of a joint municipality to the two Gram Panchayats of Mundra Taluka of Kutch District, Mundra Gram Panchayat and Baroi Group Gram Panchayat.

New Delhi: Gujarat Chief Minister Vijaybhai Rupani has taken two important decisions giving priority to Urban development in the state. Accordingly, the Chief Minister has decided to give the status of a joint municipality to the two Gram Panchayats of Mundra Taluka of Kutch District, Mundra Gram Panchayat and Baroi Group Gram Panchayat.

Mundra taluka of Kutch has a population of 35 thousand and population of Baroi group gram panchayat is about 25 thousand, closely combined population of 60,000 rural citizens will get facilities including roads, sewerage system, lights as soon as this joint municipality is formed.

In an another important decision by Chief Minister, 21 private societies in Sanand Nagarpalika area of Ahmedabad district will get RCC roads at a cost of Rs.2 crore under Swarnim Jyanti Mukhyamantri Shaheri Vikas Yojana with public participation.

                         21 private societies of Sanand Nafarpalika will get RCC roads at a cost of Rs.2 crore Under Swarnim Jayanti MukhyaMantri Shaheri Vikas Yojana

It is important to point out here that under Swarnim Jyanti Mukhyamantri Shaheri Vikas Yojana, infrastructure development works are being carried out in private societies as well as in other residential areas through public participation.

The scheme covers amenities and sanitation works in all private societies, housing board and residential areas where property tax is levied by local bodies. In addition asphalt paving work on internal roads, road resurfacing as well as cement concrete road works, works like street lights and water pipelines can be sanctioned.

The state government contributes 70% for such works under Swarnim Jyanti Mukhyamantri Shaheri Vikas Yojana.
