New Delhi: In Gujarat, polling is underway for six major Municipal Corporations. Union Home minister Amit Shah today cast his vote in the Naranpura ward of Ahmedabad municipal corporation today. State BJP President CR Patil also exercised his franchise in Surat.

Counting of votes for the elections held in Ahmedabad Surat Vadodara Rajkot Bhavnagar and Jamnagar Municipal Corporations will be taken up on February 23. A total of 47,695 booths have been set up for the polls.
CM Rupani who is under the treatment of Covid 19 in Ahmedabad is expected to exercise his franchise in the evening in Rajkot. In view of the polls, over 43 thousand police force has been deployed in the major cities.
