Haridwar: 70-year-old lady takes ‘dubki’ in Ganga jumping from a height; Netizens laud her courage (Watch Video)

Not only that, that brave woman swam across the river and reached a safe side where devotees were present, thus coming out of the Ganges.

New Delhi: Uttar Pradesh’s Haridwar is considered to be a spiritual place for all devotees as they prefer to watch Ganga aarti and take a devotional bath at the river. However, in a viral video, a stunt performed by an elderly lady shocked and amazed the witnesses as well as the netizens all around.

The now-viral video shows a 70-year-old lady jumping into the river Ganga from a considerable height. The elderly woman crossed over the fence of the bridge on which she was standing and then bravely jumped into the river, Harki Pauri ghat. Not only that, that brave woman swam across the river and reached a safe side where devotees were present, thus coming out of the Ganges.

Besides, people around her who helped her to take the leap was heard cheering for her.

The video was shared by UP police officer Sachin Kaushik. He captioned the video, “Age about 70 years, Location- Maa Ganga, Har ki Paidi, Haridwar!” The video has garnered more than 300 likes and over 60 retweets.

The video soon was shared on social media with netizens hailing the bravery of the elderly woman. However, many stated that she has violated the rule and shouldn’t have promoted this act. One of the users said, “Salute to the courage, mother,” while another stated, “Age is just a number! Hence proved .”
