Haryana: Stone pelting during VHP’s shobha yatra leads to violent clashes in Nuh

Haryana police though swung into action and dispersed the stone-pelters. The administration has increased vigil and vowed to punish the criminals & perpetrators indulging in violence.

New Delhi: Clashes broke out between members of two communities in Haryana’s Nuh district today. According to reports, the violent confrontation between two groups erupted after incident of stone-pelting on Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP)’s ‘shobha yatra’.

Many vehicles were damaged in stone-pelting incident while some others were set ablaze. The violent miscreants went on rampage and also resorted to vandalization & arson of public property.

Haryana police though swung into action and dispersed the stone-pelters. The administration has increased vigil and vowed to punish the criminals & perpetrators indulging in violence.

According to reports, the confrontation broke out after a group of people hurled stones as well as fired shots at VHP yatris while they were crossing the Nalhar Mahadev Temple in Nuh.

The stone pelting took place at the Chowk about 2 km from the temple. In response to stone-pelting at Shobha Yatra, the VHP men are also understood to have repulsed with similar incident.

Earlier, the VHP had released its Yatra route, “Brajmandal (Mewat) Jalabhishek Yatra under the auspices of Vishva Hindu Parishad’s Yuva Shakti Bajrang Dal, starting from Nalhad Mahadev Temple at 10:00 am today, July 31, 2023, will end at Shringar Temple, Punhana.”
