
New Delhi: The results of Haryana Panchayat polls have been released. The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) bagged biggest share of 22 seats, Indian national Lok Dal (INLD) claimed victory in 13 seats while Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has made a surprising & bold entry in the state’s zila parishad polls.
The zila parishad elections were held for 4 districts of Haryana on November 22 & 25, namely Faridabad, Palwal, Fatehabad & Hisar.
Haryana has a total of 22 zila parishads and comprises of 411 members. The elections were held for these zila parishads in 3 different phases. After the completion of polls, the elected members will elect 22 zila parishad chiefs.
Overall, the zila parishad elections have come as a major setback for the ruling BJP as reports suggest that voters have rejected candidates of almost big parties and chose Independent candidates.
According to reports, out of 411 members, the big parties including BJP, INLD, AAP & others got restricted to within double digit figure while the Independents claimed victory over 350 seats.
