Himachal Assembly Election results 2022: Winners, Losers and Party-wise Vote Percentage

New Delhi: Congress defeated BJP in a tough battle as to who will come into power after getting a clear mandate in Himachal Assembly Elections 2022.

Congress has emerged as the largest party with 40 seats in the 68-member state assembly and decimated BJP to 25 seats. Independent candidates bagged three seats while AAP couldn’t even open his account in the elections.

According to Election Commission, BJP got 43.00% per cent vote share whereas Congress had 43.90% and Aam Aadmi Party was 1.10%.

In the 2017 Assembly Elections, the situation was completely opposite. The Bhartiya Janta Party got 44 seats while keeping Congress restricted to 21 seats. Rest 2 seats were secured by independent candidates. Notably, the voters of Himachal Pradesh have not voted any government twice to power consecutively since 1985 and this Assembly Election was no exception to it.
