
Himachal Cloudburst: Flash floods sweep away cars, damage homes; videos go viral
New Delhi: Flash floods in Himachal Pradesh have crippled normal life. An incident of cloudburst was reported in Dharamshala triggering a flood-like situation, the National Highway was blocked near Jhakri in the Rampur area of Shimla district following heavy rainfall.
Flash floods triggered by cloudburst washed away vehicles and causing damage to properties in the Bhagsu Nag area. Many videos of flash floods wreaking havoc in Dharamshala have now gone viral on social media.
A video shared by ANI shows horrific visuals of a huge amount of water gushing rapidly through the parked vehicles.

Himachal Pradesh has been receiving heavy rainfall for the last few days as the weather department predicted and issued an orange weather warning of heavy rains on July 12 and 13 and a yellow weather warning for July 14 and 15.

Heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely today at isolated places over Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi, Gujarat Region, Madhya Maharashtra, coastal Andhra Pradesh &Yanam, Telangana, coastal and south interior Karnataka, Kerala and Mahe and Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) informed yesterday.
