New Delhi: In a shocking incident, a 26-year-old Hindu boy was murdered in Karnataka’s Shivamogga for campaigning against wearing Hijab in schools and colleges, triggering fresh tension over the issue.
According to reports, the victim has been identified as Harsha. The boy was actively campaigning for secular uniforms in state’s schools and colleges.
After the incident, the Shivamogga district administration has clamped prohibitory orders and announced a holiday for schools and colleges.
Reacting to the incident, Karnataka CM Basavaraj Bommai said that Ffew leads have been identified during the investigation which had started last night following the killing of 26- year old.
“Police are investigating the case and trying to find out the criminals. We are also working with them. Already section 144 has been clamped in the entire city. So, we have announced a holiday for the schools and colleges,” Selvamani said.

Karnataka Minister KS Eshwarappa, said that he is very much disturbed by the murder of Bajrang Dal activist. He said that the young boy was killed by ‘Musalmaan goondas’ (Muslim goons).
He further said that he will be going to Shivamogga now to analyse the situation. He will not allow ‘goondaism.’

In 2015, a Facebook group named Mangalore Muslims had released a fatwa against a Hindu Activist Harsha Shivamogga who was brutally murdered yesterday in Shimogga.
