New Delhi: Home Minister Amit Shah has recovered and is likely to be discharged in a short time. He was admitted at AIIMS, New Delhi (on August 18) for post-COVID Care, AIIMS Delhi said.

Amit Shah was admitted after he complaint of “fatigue and body ache,’’ said a statement issued by the hospital authorities.

At AIIMS, Amit Shah was under observation and a team of doctors led by AIIMS Director Dr Randeep Guleria was monitoring his condition.

On 2 August, he was admitted to the private Medanta Hospital in Gurugram. He got himself tested after seeing “early symptoms” of the disease. “Though I am feeling okay, am being admitted to hospital on medical advice,” the Home Minister said in a tweet in Hindi.

Amit Shah was the first Union cabinet minister to test positive for coronavirus. Since then, four other Union ministers have tested positive in India with Ayush minister Shripad Naik being the latest.
