After PM Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah takes first dose of Covid-19 vaccine

Earlier, Amit Shah, who tested positive on August 2, was admitted in Medanta Hospital, Gurugram.

New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah took the fist dose of Covid-19 vaccine. He was vaccinated by Medanta Hospital doctors.

Amit Shah was inoculated hours after Prime Minister Narendra Modi took his first dose of COVID-19 vaccine at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Delhi.

The minister in a tweet had thanked all those who wished for his recovery.

Earlier on Monday morning, Prime Minister Narendra Modi took the first dose of Covaxin, India’s homegrown coronavirus vaccine developed by biotechnology firm Bharat Biotech and the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR).

Soon after receiving the first dose of the vaccine at AIIMS Delhi, he tweeted, “Took my first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine at AIIMS.”

“Remarkable how our doctors and scientists have worked in quick time to strengthen the global fight against COVID-19,” he added.

Earlier in the day, PM Narendra Modi tweeted to say that he received Covid-19 vaccine shot at AIIMS hospital in the national capital.

Earlier after diagnosed with Coronavirus, Home Minister Amit Shah was admitted to Medanta Hospital in Gurugram . He said after seeing “early symptoms” of the disease. “Though I am feeling okay, am being admitted to hospital on medical advice,” the Home Minister said in a tweet in Hindi.
