Horror caught on camera: Audi driver runs over sleeping stray dog purposely; FIR lodged

The incident happened when a pack of stray dogs was sleeping on the pavement at a residential colony in Jayanagar.

New Delhi: An inhuman treatment has caught the attention of several people when an Audi driver deliberately ran over a stray dog in Bengaluru’s Jayanagar on Wednesday. The whole incident was captured on the CCTV is going around the internet.

The incident happened when a pack of stray dogs was sleeping on the pavement at a residential colony in Jayanagar. The video showed that the white Audi stopped for some seconds a few inches ahead of where the dog was sleeping, reversed his direction, and purposely ran over the innocent animal.

Following the incident, the accused fled from the spot where the locals filed a complaint to the police after one of the dogs suffered serious injuries.

Several animal activists all over social media have raised voices against the cruel incident. Police have recovered the incident from the CCTV footage as a piece of evidence and lodged an FIR against the culprit based on the complaint filed by the locals.

The police are trying to look for the accused.

Another similar incident was also reported earlier this month when a man from Madhya Pradesh’s Gwalior beat a stray dog to death. A video showcasing the incident went viral all over the internet. The video was CCTV footage that showed the man beating the dog with sticks and stones. Even after the dog stopped moving, the man kept on hitting it with a stick.

The incident occurred in Gwalior’s Char Shahar square area. The man was identified as Banti Bais and was charged by the police. The accused reported that he was irritated by the stray dog’s frequent visit to his pet female dog, which made him take the step.
