How adversely jobs were affected during Corona crisis: ABP-CVoter Survey finds out

According to Survey, 4% people said that they were working from home and their income was stable as earlier. 6% people said that their income has reduced though they are working from home. 11% respondents revealed that they lost their jobs during Corona period.

New Delhi: The second wave of Coronavirus hit the economy hard, dealt a devastating blow to the businesses and left the unorganized sector in shambles.

Many people lost their jobs, while some faced salary cuts while business houses saw dip in their revenues.

ABP-CVoter conducted a survey, with sample size of about 40,000 people about the impact of 2nd wave of Coronavirus on their daily lives.

According to Survey, 4% people said that they were working from home and their income was stable as earlier. 6% people said that their income has reduced though they are working from home. 11% respondents revealed that they lost their jobs during Corona period.

According to Survey findings, about 20% respondents were working as earlier and they didn’t face any salary issue during this period while 37% faced monetary issues while working under Covid-19 protocols.

About 4% people are such who are working but are not being paid by their employers. On other hand, 3% accounted for such people who are working from home and didn’t face any pay cut. 2% people saw deducting in salary while working from home. 7% people were affected during this period, apparently because of some other reasons. And, 2% respondents said that they couldn’t assess impact of Covid-19 on their businesses.

74% people content with Modi govt on Covid-19 handling

According to the Survey, as high as 74% respondents were satisfied with the way Modi government dealt with the pandemic.

And, this contentment with government’s management kept fluctuating. Around April 15, about 57.7% people were content while it declined to 51.2% during Bengal campaigning. During counting on May 2, it further dipped to 37.3%. After PM Modi announcement of ‘one nation, one vaccine’ on June 7, the numbers suddenly went up. By June 16, those satisfied with government’s Covid response went up to 52.1%.

The ABP News-CVoter Survey captured the mood of nation on issues like Govt’s handling of pandemic, oxygen shortage, reporting of Covid-19 cases and deaths. The survey was conducted with a sample size of about 40,000 people, spread throughout the length & breadth of country.
