How Gujarat govt is providing housing cover to poor and homeless under ‘Pradhan Mantri Aawas Yojana’

Gujarat CM said that state government has constructed 10 lakh houses in the last 3 years under ‘Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana’ and Mukhyamantri Awas Yojana to provide adequate housing cover to the poor, deprived and homeless people of the state.

New Delhi: Gujarat Chief Minister Vijaybhai Rupani today dedicated various development projects in Surendranagar through video conferencing from Gandhibnagar.

These projects include 416 newly constructed houses project under Pradhanmantri Aawas Yojana built by Thangadh Municipality worth Rs.18.17 crore and Patadi-Dasada Taluka Seva Sadan project worth Rs.9.96 crore.

Gujarat govt built 10 lakh homes in 3 years

On this occasion, CM stated that the state government has constructed 10 lakh houses in the last three years under ‘Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana’ and Mukhyamantri Awas Yojana to provide adequate housing cover to the poor, deprived and homeless people of the state.

In this regard, he said that in the housing schemes, this government has provided not only roofs but also comfortable houses with electricity, toilets, water and roads. He asserted that the government has given priority to providing basic amenities to the poor and Antyodaya families so that their standard of living can be raised.

What CM Rupani said

# Gujarat has maintained pace of daily life activities-development works-public works even in the midst of Corona pandemic.

# Decentralized the system to extend the benefits of the welfare schemes of the Central/ State Government to the rural hinterland of state.

# Priority is given to infrastructural facilities to raise the living standards of the poor.

 

Affordable Housing Package

Vijaybhai Rupani also said that Gujarat has continued its development journey even in this globally difficult period of Corona outbreak. He said that even in the epidemic of Corona, the works of public interest have not been stopped. He appealed to all citizens to cultivate good habits like wearing masks, social distance, frequent hand washing, not crowding and to prevent the spread of corona. He added that the recovery rate of corona infections in Gujarat is more than 72% and the mortality rate is also low. Gujarat has been able to maintain this rate due to intensive health care measures and public awareness.

The Chief Minister said that the Prime Minister’s plans for a new India have been achieved by decentralizing and decentralizing the implementation of the schemes to the district, taluka and village level so that the schemes reach the rural level and reach the people of Chhewada.

He clearly stated that Prime Minister Narendrabhai Modi from his tenure as the Chief Minister of Gujarat started building modern buildings for government offices and developed work culture to speeding up the construction of state-of-the-art facilities for the people in the state. The Chief Minister elaborated that the State and Central Governments are working together on welfare schemes for the poor, the oppressed, the deprived and disabled and everyone.

We want to realize Antyodaya Utthan and RamRajya with schemes like toilets in all houses, financial assistance to the poor through Jandhan Yojana, widow-disabled pension, Ayushyaman Bharat, Maa-Amritam, scholarships to students and foodgrains to the poor-needy at subsidized rates, he said.

The Chief Minister wished a bright future to the housing beneficiaries and wished the Karmayogis from Taluka Seva Sadan to take the lead for public service and public works.
