New Delhi: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi who is currently busy with his ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ from Kanniyakumari to Kashmir, has once again caught in another controversy after he skipped a function for inauguration of memorials of two noted Gandhians of Kerala on Sunday.
Both the Gandhians – Gopinathan Nair and K.E. Maman are highly respected in the state.
It was said that Rahul Gandhi, who would be passing near the Noorul Islam Medical Sciences (NIMS) at Neyyatinkara during his ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ would inaugurate the memorials of the two Gandhians, constructed at the hospital building.
During the medical emergencies, the hospital had taken care of both the Gandhians.
Even after passing from the front of the NIMS hospital, Rahul Gandhi did not stop to inaugurate the memorials.
Now, this has lead to a controversy as as families and friends of both the Gandhians, including the wife of late Gopinathan Nair, were waiting at the hospital premises for the function.

Congress on Goof-Up
Congress’s state unit President K. Sudhakaran had to apologise for Rahul Gandhi’s goof-up and promised the NIMS Managing Director that a separate function would be organised for the inauguration.
Also, Congress MP Shashi Tharoor criticised Rahul Gandhi for skipping the event, saying that “Such things affect the credibility.”
