New Delhi: The Ayushman Bharat scheme is an initiative launched by the Government of India so that they will be able to receive medical benefits in times of emergency. This paperless scheme by the government delivers cashless medical coverage of a maximum of five lakh rupees. The scheme was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2018. This National Health Protection Scheme is funded by the Government of India. The scheme will help over 50 crore Indians who will be able to get healthcare facilities without any hassle or delay especially the underprivileged section.
Under the Ayushman Bharat scheme, each family will be able to receive health coverage of five lakh rupees in any of the healthcare centres in India. Under the scheme, the member will be given a card with helps them to avail of the facilities in any of the private or public health centers.
What is Ayushman Bharat Yojana scheme?
This is one of the biggest health schemes launched by the Prime Minister of India which offers medical cashless cover to all in the country. The scheme covers the cost of the treatment, hospitalization, post hospitalization etc.

Advantages of the Ayushman Bharat Yojana Scheme
- With the help of these scheme, registered families get medical treatment at zero cost
- In case a patient has undergone multiple surgeries, then government will bear the cost of the higher surgery. For the rest of the surgeries, patient can avail a discount of 50% and 20%.
- The scheme also covers the cost of chemotherapy and the cost of oncology for 50 types of cancer.
