New Delhi: Congress leader Salman Khurshid, earlier, compared Rahul Gandhi to Lord Ram and now has gone to defend his controversial statement. As Bharat Jodo Yatra is soon about to enter Uttar Pradesh, Congress leader Salman Khurshid is surrounded by controversy. BJP has left no stone unturned to milk this situation in their favour. Khurshid now said that someone doing ‘tapasya’ can be seen as ‘maryada purushottam’ (most dignified man).
While talking to the press, Khurshid defended his previous remarks and said no one can be compared to God, but the people who walk on the path of God can be appreciated. He said that if someone does ‘tapasya’ (penance) for good work and if people see ‘maryada purushottam’, in someone, can’t we praise him? While defending his remarks, he used the title used for Lord Ram to refer to Rahul Gandhi’s acts.

Talking about Bharat Jodo Yatra he said that the march will enter Uttar Pradesh from Loni and go towards Baghpat. targeted BJP and said that they keep commenting on the ‘yatra’. He added that if they walk even two steps, they would understand the amount of courage it takes to do it.

Comparing Rahul Gandhi to Lord Ram, he said that sometimes one walks with the ‘Khadau’ of Lord Ram like Bharat, and if Khadaun has reached Uttar Pradesh, then Lord Ram will also come. He also called Rahul Gandhi a superhuman.
BJP Spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia Salman Khurshid is comparing our deity, Lord Ram, with a person out on bail, just for votes. On the other hand, BJP General Secretary Dushyant Gautam asked Congressmen to roam naked as Lord Ram’s ‘sena’ did.
