New Delhi: Delhi Police on Tuesday (November 2) conducted a raid on an illegal casino in the national capital and arrested 32 people allegedly involved in gambling activities including 3 women.
The raid was conducted at around 2:00 AM after receiving information by a source.
This was successful after the police who were on patrolling duty met the informer near Dwarka Mod and were tipped off about an illegal casino being run in a building near pillar no.772.
Soon, the information was shared by Inspector Rajesh Maurya, SHO of Mohan Garden who also reached the spot and the same was shared with Night G.O ACP Ravinder Singh.
After which a raiding party was constituted and the staff was suitably briefed about the information.
The raiding party observed a big pool table around which several people were standing with cash in their hands and several tokens and playing cards.
As soon as the police entered they threw their cash on the table and started running here & there. However the staff managed to overpower all of them. An FIR has been registered against the owner.
Over Rs 4,00,550 cash, betting cards plastic tokens, cash counting machine and slips and other things was recovered.
One person from the group was found in possession of a revolver with 6 live rounds. Liquor brands ranging from Beer to Whisky were also recovered from the spot.
