New Delhi: The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) officials have confiscated 3 kgs of drugs worth crores in Bengaluru. Acting on a tip-off, the NCB sleuths raided the spot and caught the shipment that was ready to be delivered to Australia. Reportedly, the drugs were hidden inside 3 lehengas. One person has been apprehended for alleged involvement in crime.
The team headed by the Zonal Director of NCB Bangalore, Amit Ghawate intercepted the parcel on October 21 and later seized 3 kg of white-coloured crystalline substance, predicted to be pseudoephedrine.
The anti-drug agency discovered the banned substance by opening each fold of the fall-line of each lehenga. According to the officials, the parcel was booked from Andhra Pradesh’s Narasapuram and was to be shipped to Australia. The officials tracked the shipment and the consigner to Chennai was identified.
Details were shared by the NCB team in Chennai and they investigated the operation for two days. Eventually, they discovered the real address of the parcel sender and apprehended him on Friday. The investigation stated that fake addresses and documents were used for the shipment of the parcel of the drugs.
Further investigation is under process.
