The father attempted suicide as he couldn’t get the police to lodge FIR and investigate the case but survived. It was only then the police swung into action.

According to reports, the teenager had gone to some wedding function at a neigbouring village where she was forcibly taken to a forest and raped for several hours.

“As per preliminary information, the girl had gone to attend a relative’s wedding at a neighbouring village when she was taken to a nearby forest by two drunken men. There, five others joined them and she was raped for several hours,” Bastar range IG P Sundarraj was quoted as saying by Times of India.
