In whirlwind tour of Japan, PM Modi to hold 23 meets in just 40 hours; Indian diaspora event planned

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday flew to Japan to attend the Quad summit and other programs.

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday flew to Japan to attend the Quad summit and other programs. The summit will take place in Japan’s capital Tokyo. During the 40-hour-long visit, PM Modi will also have 23 engagements with leaders as well as CEOs of major companies.

PM Modi departed for Japan tonight to participate in the Quad summit at the invitation of the Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida.

Meanwhile, PM Modi will have 23 engagements, including three meetings with the quad US President Joe Biden and PM of Australia and Japan. Mr Modi will complete his visit in 40 hours.

Notably, PM Modi is famous for tavelling in a fixed pattern. On most of his visits, he travells in flight at night to save time while he attends engagements and meetings in the morning.

”PM Modi will arrive here on May 23 & will have interactions with business leaders as well as business CEOs in a one-to-one format. Thereafter, there will be an Indian diaspora community event & May 24 is largely devoted to Quad meeting,” SK Verma, Indian envoy to Japan told ANI.

“There will be few CEOs, chairmen and presidents of the companies who will be independently and separately meeting PM,” Verma added

“The leaders will review the progress of Quad initiatives and working groups, identify new areas of cooperation and provide strategic guidance and vision for future collaboration,” said the MEA.

Earlier in March 2022, Japan Prime Minister Fumio Kishida visited India to take part in the 14th India-Japan Annual Summit.
