IRCTC Bharat Gaurav tourist train: Visit places associated with Lord Rama’s life; book ticket on EMIs

All passengers above 18 years of age must be vaccinated against the COVID-19 to travel in the train. 

New Delhi: For those who love to go on pilgrimage, the IRCTC launched the Bharat Gaurav tourist train under the Swadesh Darshan scheme. The train will cover the places of the Ramayana Circuit, including Nepal. The government decided to start the train to promote domestic tourism under an initiative called Dekho Apna Desh. The train will begin its journey on June 21.

If you are planning to visit sacred places with your family or with friends, we are going to provide the details of the train, journey, and cost. However, it is important to note that the booking is available on a first come first serve basis.

Train to cover 8,000 kilometres

The Bharat Gaurav tourist train will start its journey on June 21 from New Delhi’s Safdarjung railway station. It will be an 18-day tour and the train will cover an overall 8,000 kilometres distance with 600 tourists.

After the journey begins, the train will first stop at Ayodhya, followed by Buxar, Sithamarhi and Janakpur in Nepal by road, Varanasi, Nashik, Rameshwaram, Kanchipuram, Bhadrachalam or ‘Ayodhya of the South’. On the 18-day, the train will return to its boarding point.

Ticket cost and benefits 

The IRCTC charges Rs 63,370 per person for the 18-day tour. In the package, one will get the comfort of 3rd AC, Night stays at AC hotels, all transfer & sight-seeing in buses, travel insurance and services of a guide, all meals (Veg Only), Covid-19 safety kit, etc. One may find the cost very high for one-time payment, so IRCTC also provides the EMI payment options in partnership with Paytm and Razorpay.
