Is he trolling own govt in Punjab?: Minister jabs Rahul for questioning revised vaccination policy

“Sh Rahul Gandhi has been going around asking “If vaccines are free for all, why should pvt hospitals charge for them?” Is he actually trolling his own party’s government in Punjab?” said the Union minister tagging Rahul Gandhi’s tweet.

New Delhi: Union minister Hardeep Singh Puri on Tuesday took a swipe on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, after the latter questioned the rationale behind change in Covid-19 vaccination policy. After PM Modi announcement that Centre will provide free vaccines to states for all 18+, Rahul Gandhi tweeted to ask why people would still have to pay for jabs at private hospitals.

Responding to it on Tuesday, Puri asked if the Congress leader is actually trolling his own party’s government in Punjab.

“Sh Rahul Gandhi has been going around asking “If vaccines are free for all, why should pvt hospitals charge for them?” Is he actually trolling his own party’s government in Punjab?” said the Union minister tagging Rahul Gandhi’s tweet.

Remember, it was Congerss government in Punjab which sold Centre-supplied vaccines to private hospitals in the state at highly escalated prices and raked huge profits.

As per the new policy applicable from June 21, the Centre will procure all the vaccine stock and distribute it to the states for free while private hospitals can directly purchase 25% of the vaccines from vaccine producing companies.

Puri taunts Kejriwal over vaccine formula

In another tweet, the Union Minister also underlined what PM Modi said in his Address to the Nation that some states wanted vaccination to be decentralized. Calling out the duplicity of AAP govt, he taunted Kejriwal by saying ‘there is difference between vaccine formula and gajar ka halwa.’

“One amongst the vaccine procurement U-Turners, Delhi CM had also demanded that centre shared the vaccine formula with him! Although this was a call for vaccine manufacturers to take, one should understand the difference between a vaccine formula & DIY gajar ka halwa recipe,” Hardeep Singh Puri tweeted.
