PM Modi’s visit to country’s smallest Union Territory not only made it a talking point all across social media and among travelers but also left the neighbouring Maldives rattled over likely impact on its tourism.

New Delhi: Lakshadweep, hitherto, an unexplored tourism destination in the Arabian sea has caught the attention of people not just domestically but also globally. A Google search shows sudden spike in people’s interest for the archipelago, situated at the southern tip of country. Data shows the worldwide google searches for the group of island skyrocketed in last 3-4 days and was highest in past 20 years.

The reason behind is apparently Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the island, an overnight stay and some breathtaking pictures from its serene beaches. His adventures activities on the beach including snorkeling went viral while unraveling the scenic & panoramic beauty of the island.

After PM Modi’s visit to the archipelago, Lakshadweep has taken over internet & social media. Not only it dominated the social media trends but remained among top searches in Google.

For two consecutive days, it ranked among top searches in Google. Today, the data shows people’s skyrocketing interest in the island, which is highest in past 20 years.

Maldives is one of the favorite hotspots for travelers because of its exotic beach locations, customized beach resorts & tourist friendly packages.
