Jammu and Kashmir Encounter: Terrorist involved in the killing of Kashmiri Pandit in Pulwama shot dead

The encounter started today at around 1:30 am after the security forces received the information that two terrorists were hiding in Pulwama district’s Awantipora.

New Delhi: A terrorist who was involved in the killing of a Kashmiri Pandit Sanjay Sharma in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama was shot dead by the security forces today (February 28, Tuesday), the police said.

Police said the terrorist identified as Aquib Mushtaq Bhat was shot dead during an encounter with the security forces after a joint operation was launched by the army and the police in Pulwama district’s Padgampora village.

The encounter started today at around 1:30 am after the security forces received the information that two terrorists were hiding in Pulwama district’s Awantipora.

Sanjay Sharma who worked as a security guard in a bank was critically injured after terrorists shot him while he was going to the market last Sunday (February 26). He was soon rushed to a nearby Government hospital where he died.

BJP’s Ravinder Raina paid his tribute to the late Sanjay Sharma and met his family members.

In the last four months, this was the first attack on a Hindu civilian in Jammu and Kashmir
